We are seeking a passionate Auxiliary Unity Game Development Bootcamp Instructor to join our team as a substitute instructor. The ideal candidate should possess a strong foundation in game development principles, coupled with a proficient understanding of the Unity Game Engine. The Auxiliary Game Development Instructor role is a casual/part-time contractor opportunity to sub classes when requested. Our Auxiliary Instructors get first access to Instructor roles as opportunities become available. 

This position is open candidates based in Eastern Canada and is 100% remote. The Auxiliary Instructor should have availability from 6:30-9:00 pm Eastern Time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Preference will be given to candidates in Ontario and Quebec.

 Responsibilities
  • When subbing, prepare and lead engaging and comprehensive classroom sessions, workshops, and hands-on projects related to C# programming and game development, utilizing a learner-centered approach.
  • Showcase proficiency in using Unity Engine and C# programming.
  • Share real-world experiences, case studies, and insights from the game development industry to offer students a holistic understanding of the field.
  • Stay updated with industry advancements, emerging technologies, and best practices in game design to continuously enhance your own skills and instruction techniques.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the game development industry, with a proven track record of successful game development projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Game Development, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Proficiency in game development principles, object oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, programming design patterns and best practices in game development and programming.
  • Previous teaching or TA experience is preferred plus strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to convey complex concepts in an accessible and engaging manner.
  • Innate logical thinking and the ability to inspire and nurture logical thinking in students.
  • A passion for guiding and mentoring students, fostering their growth, and providing meaningful feedback.
  • Willingness to adapt to evolving curriculum needs, industry trends, and emerging technologies.
  • A collaborative attitude, eager to contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • A proactive attitude towards ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with industry advancements.
  • A strong portfolio of game development projects or relevant work to showcase your skills and experience.
